DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the overall supervision of the Director Education and Training Office, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

(a) Maintain a database on education and training resources, institutions, collaborating partners and other existing opportunities;

(b) Maintain a database on all planned and implemented training activities by all Secretariat departments as essential resource for development, implementation and reporting on education and training activities;

(c) Assist in the preparation and circulation of information on WMO education and training opportunities;

(d) Assist in guiding potential applicants in the preparation and submission of education and training requests in line with rules and regulations of WMO;

(e) Enter new education and training requests into the WMO Education and Training Administration System;

(f) Issue letters of award and instructions to fellows and provide other supporting services to fellows;

(g) Prepare preliminary costing estimates of fellowships and training activities for financial allocations;

(h) Assist in liaison with trainees' host and home country authorities, education and training beneficiaries to promote effective implementation and cordial relations;

(i) Prepare input to reports and outreach activities on education and training activities;

(j) Carry out other relevant duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Master's degree or equivalent in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent may be accepted if accompanied by relevant experience.

Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in education and training, curricula development, blended learning or online delivery for applicants with a Bachelor's degree.

Other requirements
Excellent analytical skills and of IT applications. Ability to work independently and effectively under heavy pressure. Sense of diplomacy, tact and discretion. Proven written and oral communication skills. Ability to draft clearly and concisely, to manage workloads with conflicting schedules and to pay attention to detail. Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
Possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funds and pending satisfactory performance after an initial probationary period of one year which can be extended up to a maximum of two years.
SALARY AND ALLOWANCES

Annual net base salary on initial appointment is: US$ 39401

Annual post adjustment on initial salary is: US$ 29905 (in addition to the net base salary)
