DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Scientific Officer, Applied Climate services Division the consultant will perform the following duties:



Conduct a review of the state of research on extreme heat and agriculture including documenting the focus of available research, methodologies used, value chains focused on, and other relevant factors.?

Identify gaps in research on extreme heat and agriculture.?

Propose a methodology / methodologies for a technical document on extreme heat and agriculture, including crops, livestock, forestry, fisheries, aquaculture, water resources and health of agricultural workers.

Identify case studies which could be included in the report.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
An advanced university degree (Master's of PhD) in agrometeorology, climate science, climate risk management or related field.

Experience
At least 5 years of experience in agrometeorological research, applied agrometeorology, or climate risk research.

Other requirements
Proven experience in writing technical documents related to agrometeorology, climate science, climate impacts and risks.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written).

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
