DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direct supervision of the Director, Governance Services (D/GS) and in close interaction with D/LCC and D/LCA, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

(a) Actively search for and implement business transformation solutions that support a wide range of GS activities and those of technical departments;
(b) Analyse on a continuous basis current practices, identify gaps and redundancies and propose to D/GS innovations in the work processes;
(c) Monitor new trends, keep abreast of new practices and proactively identify opportunities and activities to innovate and implement in the GS department and across the Organization;
(d) Continually refine business strategies and processes based on client needs and or gaps;
(e) Identify future state process, propose improvements, prepare/execute an action plan;
(f) Lead project management activities for D/GS;
(g) Provide project and business transformation training in structural or process changes arising from evolving requirements of the Organization;
(h) Provide substantive input in the preparation of position papers and reports for presentation to D/GS and the senior management;
(i) Represent the Organization at inter-agency meetings on substantive-related issues;
(j) Provide substantive expertise in various WMO meetings;
(k) Carry out other relevant duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Master's degree or equivalent in economics, public policy, public administration, computer science, social sciences or a closely related field with a strong focus on business transformation practices and solutions.

Experience
A minimum of eight years of combined national and international progressively responsible experience in developing and implementing business innovation operation policies and projects and in facilitating innovation and innovation solutions.

Other requirements
High sense of integrity, responsibility, and maturity of judgment; ability to work autonomously; good level of initiative and creativity; demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple workloads; ability to draft reports, and position papers clearly and succinctly in English in the area of business innovation; excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 Business applications. PRINCE 2 Practitioner certification or equivalent. Demonstrated public speaking and coaching ability. Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written) and working knowledge of French. Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
Possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funds and pending satisfactory performance after an initial probationary period of one year which can be extended up to a maximum of two years.
SALARY AND ALLOWANCES

Annual net base salary on initial appointment is: US$ 77326

Annual post adjustment on initial salary is: US$ 62943 (in addition to the net base salary)
