DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the overall guidance of the Director of the Science and Innovation (D/SI) Department and the Director of the Services Department (D/S), the incumbent will perform the following duties:

- Support activities of the Study Group on Integrated Health Services and integrated Urban Services ; assist with the stakeholder mapping and the development of the Implementation Plan for Integrated Urban Services;

- Assist with the relevant modelling groups and urban stakeholders ; assist with the development of the guidance on high resolution urban modelling;

- Support the working relations and effective coordination between the relevant groups under Research Board and the Technical Commissions of WMO on urban and health matters;

- Assist with the development of communication and outreach materials for promotion of the integrated urban and health services to scientific and non-scientific communities;

- Assist with the development of relevant training materials and support capacity development activities across regions of the world related to integrated urban and health services;

- Support the activities of relevant WMO Task Teams, etc;

- Support urban and health activities with other United Nations bodies where there is a formal agreement between organizations;

- Ensure that the related websites are maintained and up-to-date;

- Carry out other relevant duties, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Earth System science, meteorology, air quality or health.

Experience
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management and coordination. Experience in scientific communication, knowledge brokering and stakeholder engagement.

Other requirements
Experience with the United Nations system would be an advantage. Experience writing reports, documents and correspondence. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
Possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funds and pending satisfactory performance after an initial probationary period of one year which can be extended up to a maximum of two years.
SALARY AND ALLOWANCES

Annual net base salary on initial appointment is: US$ 50377

Annual post adjustment on initial salary is: US$ 38387 (in addition to the net base salary)
