DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the lead Member Platform Unit, WMO Information System (WIS) Branch, Infrastructure Department, the incumbent will be responsible for the second-level internal user support of the WMO Community Platform and the operation of WMO's documents management platforms. The incumbent works closely with users and the first-level user support (WMO Service Desk) to understand problems of users and solves, or escalates, the problems to the Service Managers. The incumbent identifies systemic problems, proposes solutions and provides training to users. The following WMO systems are in scope of the User Support Officer:
· the Community Platform Customer Relationship Management system (Microsoft Dynamics 365);
· the Community Platform Community Pages (Drupal);
· the WMO internal document management system (Alfresco);
· the WMO FileCloud, WMO's external document sharing platform (Alfresco);

The incumbent will perform the following duties

1. Provide second-level support to WMO internal users;
2. Analyse recurrent issues and propose solutions;
3. Perform routine and ad-hoc system management functions such a granting access, manage approval workflows which are escalated by first-level support;
4. Maintain the documentation available to WMO Staff;
5. Provide training to WMO users.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology.

Experience
At least five years of relevant work experience in IT user-support or a related activity.

Other requirements
- Good general IT knowledge
- Experience with user-support
- Willingness to learn
- Knowledge of one or more out of Alfresco, Microsoft Dynamics or Drupal is an asset
- Data analysis skills (Excel, PoweBI/Tableau) are an asset

Languages
Fluency in English. Knowledge of other WMO official languages would be an asset.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
Possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funds and pending satisfactory performance after an initial probationary period of one year which can be extended up to a maximum of two years.
