DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the overall guidance of the Communications and Partnerships Team, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

a) Conduct research on relevant topics, trends, and best practices in communication and partnerships;

b) Support the coordination and execution of internal and external events, including workshops, conferences, and meetings;

c) Support the development and maintenance of partnerships through research, outreach, and relationship management;

d) Monitor media coverage and prepare regular reports on the organization's visibility;

e) Provide administrative support to the team, including travel support, organizing meetings, maintaining databases, and handling correspondence;

f) Support the liaison with external service providers, including planning and oversight of requests and deliverables, and ensuring the applicability of GEO processes;

g) Carry out other relevant duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Students or graduates in communications, marketing, business and administration, environmental science, or a closely related field relevant to climate, science and technology.

Experience
No working experience is required, but any experience in project or programme management in communication would be an advantage.

Other requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in using various communication tools and platforms, including social media.

- Excellent research and analytical skills.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently; Multitasking.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.

- Knowledge of and interest in the organization's mission and values.

- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
