DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Project Manager (PM) of ENANDES+ Project and of the Director of WMO Regional Office for the Americas, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

Support ENANDES+ administration
1. Support WMO Projects Officer responsible for the regional implementation of ENANDES+ (PM) in the project implementation, through the development of documents (Terms of references, technical specifications, agreements, meeting minutes and concept notes for project events, etc) to prepare for implementation.
2. Support the PM in the preparation of technical and financial progress reports and the final consolidated report. As well as ensuring their delivery on time and in the required form.
3. Contribute to ensuring the quality of delivered reports by project partners, through follow up and comments, ensuring regular feedback.
4. Updating the project monitoring tools, and project virtual library.
5. Support the Project Manager in finding opportunities to leverage ENANDES+ support with other institutions and civil society organizations.
6. Support the ENANDES+ PM, in coordination meetings with project partners, beneficiaries or any other relevant stakeholder.
7. Support PM in monitoring and updating partners workplans implementation.
8. Support in the development of informative material on the project, its achievements and impacts for publication in WMO website and ENANDES+ webpage.

Support Financial Management of ENANDES+

9. Support the PM and the technical coordinators in the sound operational and financial management of the project.
10. Support the preparation of relevant documents for the approval of requisition, purchase order and resources utilization.
11. Monitor and follow up on approval processes
12. Support the overall periodical assessment of available/needed resources to implement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
 Completed secondary school education. A university degree in environmental sciences, meteorology, hydrology, disaster risk management, agronomy, or related fields is highly desirable

Experience
Proven working experience of
 minimum 5 years in project implementation in the field of climate change adaptation, mitigation, Disaster Risk Management and DRR
 minimum 3 years in managing projects LAC
 the implementation of project funded by international/multilateral donors


Other requirements
 Good knowledge of MS Office Package (Word, Excel, Power Point)
 Ability to travel within Latin America and Caribbean
 Ability to write and synthesize technical and financial documents
 Ability to write project newsletters and notes


Languages
Excellent knowledge of Spanish (both oral and written) and advanced knowledge of English. Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
