DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Head of the Atmospheric Environment Research (AER) Division, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

1. To liaise with partners in MedEWSa involved in dissemination and communication activities and to participate to all relevant meetings of MedEWSa connected to dissemination and communication activities;

2. To establish, coordinate and implement the communication and dissemination strategy of MedEWSa;

3. To support additional communication activities in GAW, as necessary;

4. Perform other related duties, as may be assigned.


DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

1. Regular coordination of the MedEWSa work package related to communications and dissemination (WP7), and development of a clear strategy for its activities until the end of the project.

2. Representation and coordination of WP7 at the MedEWSa General Assembly in November 2024.

3. Draft of the 2nd version of the MedEWSa Dissemination and Communication Plan.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Master's degree or equivalent in communication, environmental studies or a closely related field.



Experience
A minimum of one year of responsible experience in communication activities related to WMO Early Warning for All and/or to thew activities in the GAW programme.

Other requirements
- Knowledge of weather, water, climate-related activities of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is highly desirable and would be an advantage.

- Strong sense of responsibility, maturity of judgement, and initiative.

- Experience in writing and revising technical documents and reports.

- Good analytical and communication skills.

- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.

- Experience in organizing workshops, expert meetings and training events.

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)

Proposed fee: The monthly pay-band is B with CHF 7000.-
