DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WMO is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Regional Climate Prediction (RCP) section as an Intern for the duration of 6 months to assist the team in their ongoing activities. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the RCP which is planning for making best use of available tools and technologies in data-science in its climate prediction products and reports.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Chief of the RCP section of Services Department and in close collaboration with RCP staff, the intern will:

1- Assist with the development of outreach material (e.g. factsheets, brochures, web content) related to RCP activities to support regional and country-level delivery of climate services, including National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS), National Climate Services Information System focal points (NCFPs), and National Climate Forums (NCFs).
2- Provide logistical, organizational, and administrative support to the RCP section, including organizing meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Higher education degree obtained in graphic design, communication, multimedia design, information design, digital media, environmental communication or other relevant field.

Experience
Preferred experience with graphic design, illustration, and data visualization. Familiarity with provision and uptake of climate information would be an advantage.

Other requirements
Ability to plan, organize and manage the work are valued.
Maturity of judgement, initiative and creativity.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English orally and written
