DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Head of the Measurement, Instrumentation and Traceability Section, the incumbent will contribute to supporting the INFCOM Standing Committee on Measurements, Instrumentation and Traceability (SC-MINT) by performing the following duties:

1. Facilitate the transfer of knowledge from Measurement Lead Centers on modern and emerging observing technologies;

2. Contribute to the organization of the WMO 2026 Technical Conference on Instruments and Methods of Observation (TECO-2026);

3. Support capacity development and outreach activities related to meteorological measurements (instrument calibration and maintenance, sitting of observing station, community of practices, etc.);

4. Contribute to supporting the work of SC-MINT Expert Teams, including preparing meeting documents and reports;

5. Carry out other relevant duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred, in meteorology, physics or a closely related field.

Experience
Some working experience/knowledge in meteorological or environmental measurements is an advantage.

Other requirements
- Interest in meteorology and measurements.

- Ability to work independently.

- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
