ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT

Data Stewardship and Privacy Management Unit - Division of Controller Management Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Controller and Management Services Division is seeking a visionary Master Data Manager to join the Data Stewardship and Privacy Management Unit.


ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the direct supervision of the Controller, the Master Data Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

a) Review, update and formalize the vendor management procedures, tools and systems in WMO:
- Review and update the processes to manage the end-to-end supplier life cycle, using the Quantum ERP system, in particular the supplier registration portal;
- Review and update the policy guidance and procedural documentation related to vendor management;
- Ensure the process for the sanctions screening, primarily against the UN consolidated sanctions list, as well as WMOs specific sanctioned entities/individuals, is effective and represents best practice;
- Establish and put in place SLA (Service Level Agreement) with regards to Supplier management process.


b) Develop and provide training to WMO staff implementing the vendor management procedures, primarily focused on Supplier Focal Points and others involved in the vendor management process;


c) Serve as a reviewer and final approval for new supplier requests in the new ERP system during the post go-live phase of the project;


d) Lead coordination activities with UNDP GSSC (Global Shared Service Centre) service provider to ensure the data integrity of the supplier data;


e) Collaborate with cross-functional teams related to vendor and other master data to define data requirements, ensure processes are developed and implemented effectively and resolve data-related issues. Primary other WMO teams include Internal WMO business units such as Procurement, HR, Travel, Finance, Project management etc.; WMO Legal Counsel’s Office; WMO ERP support team;


f) Stay abreast of industry best practices and ERP vendor roadmaps to recommend enhancements that boost data quality and system efficiency;


g) Carry out other relevant duties as required, including supporting the data privacy and protection work of the unit.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Management; Finance or Accounting; Supply Chain Management; Information Systems or a closely related field. A first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with two years of additional directly relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the master's degree.


Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in working with or supporting an ERP system, with at least 3 years managing master data (e.g. ERP data management, ERP data governance, etc.) in the context of the United Nations system is required.


Other requirements
- Experience with developing and delivering training to staff members at various levels across an organization.
- Proven track record of collaboration and teamwork with cross-functional teams.
- A relevant certification (e.g. DAMA Certification, Oracle Cloud ERP Implementation Specialist, etc.) with a focus on data governance would be an advantage.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
The position is funded from the regular budget.

New appointments on fixed-term contract of one year or more shall be subject to an initial one-year probation period.
SALARY AND ALLOWANCES

Annual net base salary on initial appointment is: US$ 84672

Annual post adjustment on initial salary is: US$ 75104 (in addition to the net base salary)
