DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the TCG unit, the consultant will pepare two project proposals (EU Horizon Europe Cluster 3 and European Space Agency (ESA) call for climate adaptation). Specific tasks include:

1. Review background documentation, donor guidelines, and WMO strategic frameworks.

2. Coordinate technical and budget inputs from relevant WMO divisions and external partners.

3. Draft and edit sections of the proposals, including WMO's work package descriptions, deliverables, milestones, and budget justifications, ensuring coherence with frameworks and initiatives such as GFCS, EW4All, SOFF, CREWS, etc.

4. Liaise with partners and relevant WMO departments to ensure alignment and timely submission.

5. Prepare supporting documentation, annexes, and final submission packages following each donor's format and requirements.

6. Prepare required documentation for WMO internal approval process.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Advanced degree in applied meteorology, environmental sciences, or related discipline.

Experience
At least 5 years of experience in international project design, proposal development, and donor engagement (preferably with EU or ESA-funded projects).

SKILLS
- Strong drafting, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with WMO programmes, initiatives, and project management processes.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
